Highlights Cured Resin Review – Affordable and Strong

Highlights Cured Resin Review – Affordable and Strong

Today we will take a look at Highlights, which is a new budget-friendly brand that offers a wide variety of cured resin concentrates from Connected Cannabis Co. Highlights uses indoor trim run as source material for a lower price than their live resin concentrates from Connected Cannabis Co. Currently, Highlights offer their cured resin concentrates in the form of badders, sauces, sugars, diamonds, and badder chips. I was also recently impressed with their live resin products from Connected Cannabis Co., particularly their live resin diamonds as well as their live resin disposables. For this review, I will try their cured resin badder and see how it stacks up to other similar concentrates.

Pros:

  • Solid quality
  • Strong potency
  • Very affordable prices

Cons:

  • Taste could be improved

Recommendations: The taste for the cured resin badder could be improved.

The look of this cured resin badder is similar to The Live Resin Project, Maven Extracts, 831 Extracts

This week, I picked Zkittlez x Kush Mints cured resin badder from Highlights, easily distinguished by its retro 80s-style artwork on the box. Zkittlez x Kush Mints is an Indica dominant hybrid that combines Zkittlez from Dying Breed Seeds with Kush Mints from Seed Junky Genetics. The look and consistency of this cured resin badder looks similar to the live resin budder from The Live Resin Project, the cured resin from Maven Extracts, and the live resin sauce from 831 Extracts.

Tastes better than The Live Resin Project live resin and the cured resin sauce from 831 Extracts

The sweet aroma of Zkittlez x Kush Mints is earthy, minty, and floral. It also has gassy notes of citrus, pine, and diesel. The taste of this Zkittlez x Kush Mints is sweeter than its aroma, with a floral minty aftertaste. I was able to detect the sweet fruitiness of the Zkittlez in the flavor. On the other hand, the earthy mintiness of the Kush Mints was present in the aroma. This cured resin badder tasted slightly better than the live resin budder from The Live Resin Project and the cured resin sauce from 831 Extracts. However, it was not quite as tasty as the cured resin sauce from Friendly Farms, Maven Extracts, and Highland Oil Co.

Not quite as tasty, but just as potent as the cured resin sauce from Friendly Farms, Maven Extracts, and Highland Oil Co.

The effects of Zkittlez x Kush Mintz felt calming, relaxing, and sedative. It provided effective pain relief throughout the body. The most dominant terpenes of Zkittlez x Kush Mints are noted as linalool, humulene, and caryophyllene. This strain is best enjoyed during late afternoons and evenings. Overall, this cured resin badder felt as potent as cured resin from Friendly Farms, Maven Extracts, and Highland Oil Co. The THC % of Zkittlez x Kush Mints is 72.88% and the total cannabinoid % is 86.66%. While the taste could be improved, the potency is still strong with solid entourage effects.  Highlights Cured Resin Lab Results

Similarly priced as Ammo live resin, but Ammo had a better overall taste and stronger potency

The retail price for Highlights cured resin concentrates is usually around $25, pre-tax. That includes their badders, sauces, sugars, diamonds, and badder chips. Even though I would recommend Connected live resin a bit more overall for its tastier flavor and stronger potency, I would moderately recommend Highlights cured resin concentrates for its very affordable price. However, it was also similarly priced as Ammo live resin, which I would recommend for its better overall taste and stronger potency.

I would recommend the live resin over the cured resin for a few extra bucks

In conclusion, I would mildly recommend Highlights cured resin for its solid quality, strong potency, and very affordable value. Although the potency was agreeably strong, the taste could be improved. Still, this is a slightly more affordable option than most other cured resin choices, such as the cured resin from Friendly Farms and Maven Extracts. Overall, I would recommend this cured resin as much as Highland Oil Co., which is similarly priced. The live resin from Connected Cannabis Co. is also a better option for a few extra dollars. Highlights currently offers cured resin concentrates in the form of badders, sauces, sugars, diamonds, and badder chips.  They can be found in dispensaries throughout California.
