Woodstock Cartridge Review – Smooth Taste and Good Effects
Today we will take a look at Woodstock Heritage Strains from Cosmic Distribution. They are also responsible for Cosmic Brands, which we have previously reviewed here. As of now, Woodstock Heritage Strains only offers three classic strains, handpicked from the counterculture movement during the 1960s and 1970s. The currently available strains are Acapulco Gold, Maui Wowie, and the Hindu Kush, which are offered in select dispensaries throughout California. For this review, I will try all three strains from Woodstock Heritage Strains.
Pros:
- Solid quality
- Very good potency/effects
- Surprisingly smooth taste
- Very affordable
Cons:
- Taste/strength could be improved for Acapulco Gold
Recommendations: The flavor/potency of the Acapulco Gold cartridge could be tastier and stronger.
The build quality and design of Woodstock cartridges are similar to Kurvana sauce cartridges
The build quality and design of the cartridges from Woodstock Heritage Strains are similar to the CTEC ceramic coil system used in the Kurvana sauce cartridges. However, these cartridges utilize a stainless steel mouthpiece, which is preferred instead of a plastic mouthpiece. Throughout the use of this cartridge, I had very few issues with the airflow, which rarely clogged. Furthermore, the oil seemed to burn slower and last longer than other similar half-gram distillate cartridges.
Acapulco Gold is slightly tastier and less harsh than the live resin cartridges from Permanent Holiday
The first of the three Woodstock Heritage Strains is Acapulco Gold, a favorite strain among celebrities like Jack Nicholson. Acapulco Gold is a classic Sativa strain from unknown genetics that was extremely popular during the 60s. The taste of this Acapulco Gold cartridge is earthy, woody, and piney with hints of citrus, oak, and coffee. The initially euphoric effects of Acapulco Gold felt uplifting, energetic, and focused. Followed by a relaxing body high with mental clarity. Although the taste of this Acapulco Gold cartridge isn’t anything special, it does have a good level of potency with solid effects. Overall, this strain was perfect for a wake and bake session and/or daytime usage. For comparison, this Acapulco Gold is slightly tastier and less harsh than the live resin cartridges from Permanent Holiday. The THC of Acapulco Gold is 74.47%, the CBD % is 1.73%, and the total cannabinoid % is 80.87%.
Maui Wowie is slightly tastier and much stronger than the Dimebag cartridges, better flavor, and potency than Acapulco Gold
The next strain from Woodstock Heritage Strains is Maui Wowie. Maui Wowie is another classic strain whose genetics include a Hawaiian and another unknown strain. The taste of this Maui Wowie cartridge is sweet, fruity, and tropical with hints of pineapple, citrus, and earth. The flavor and potency of Maui Wowie felt slightly tastier and stronger than Acapulco Gold. It had uplifting, focused yet relaxing effects that were perfect for an afternoon pick-me-up or an extra boost of productivity. In terms of overall flavor and potency, this Maui Wowie cartridge felt slightly tastier and much stronger than the Dimebag distillate cartridges from Loudpack Extracts. The THC of Maui Wowie is 73.23%, the CBD % is 1.36%, and the total cannabinoid % is 79.46%.
The Hindu Kush is my favorite of the three strains with the best flavor and potency
Lastly, my favorite strain from Woodstock Heritage Strains is Hindu Kush. The Hindu Kush is a pure Indica strain that was popular during the 1960s and 1970s that originated in the mountain range between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The taste of this Hindu Kush cartridge is a classic combination of sweet, skunky, and spicy. It also has hints of citrus, pine, and earth. The effects of Hindu Kush felt calming, relaxing, and euphoric with effects better suited for nighttime. Overall, this felt like the most potent and tastiest of the three strains from this company’s initial lineup, despite the lower overall THC percentages. The THC of Hindu Kush is 73.23%, the CBD % is 0.32%, and the total cannabinoid % is 78.86%.
The Hindu Kush felt just as tasty and strong as the recent cured resin cartridges from Friendly Farms, Pacific Stone, and Legion of Bloom
The prices for all three strains from Woodstock Heritage Strains are usually $13 per half a gram, pre-tax. In my opinion, the Woodstock Heritage Strains cartridges are worth the very affordable price for their quality, potency, and taste, particularly Hindu Kush. Overall, I would recommend the Hindu Kush over the Acapulco Gold and the Maui Wowie cartridges for any additional aid in chronic pain, stress/anxiety, or insomnia. The effects felt stronger and longer-lasting with the Hindu Kush than they did with the other two choices from Woodstock Heritage Strains.
Overall, the Woodstock Heritage Strains are solid cartridges
In conclusion, the cartridges from Woodstock Heritage Strains are recommended for the casual user who may prefer cartridges over flowers and/or extracts. Specifically, I would highlight their solid quality, very good potency, and surprisingly smooth taste. The flavor and potency of Acapulco Gold and Maui Wowie aren’t quite as tasty and/or strong as some of the recent cured resin/sauce cartridges I’ve had from Friendly Farms, Pacific Stone, and Legion of Bloom. Both were slightly less harsh than Permanent Holiday live resin cartridges and stronger than Dimebag distillate cartridges. However, the flavor and potency of Hindu Kush felt just as tasty and strong as the recently cured resin cartridges from Friendly Farms, Pacific Stone, and Legion of Bloom.
Woodstock Heritage Strains cartridges are currently offered in select dispensaries throughout California.
