The Live Resin Project Review – Good But Lacking Some Taste
Today I will be looking at a relatively new brand at my dispensary called The Live Resin Project, which recently launched in California locations last year. The Live Resin Project is led by William Fenger and Ry Prichard, who is the co-host on Viceland’s Bong Appetit currently on Hulu. In addition, the packaging stands out with its simple and classy design by listing all the terpene profiles with the percentages on the side of the box. For this review, I will be looking at the Sundae Driver live budder from The Live Resin Project.
Pros:
- Great potency/effects
- Nice packaging
- Affordable prices
- Detailed terpene profile printed on the box
Cons:
- Not as tasty as other live resin concentrates
- Not enough strains
Recommendations: This live resin could use more flavor. More strains would be welcome.
Sundae Driver is currently a very popular strain in California
Sundae Driver is currently a very popular strain in California, as I’ve tried the 101 Cannabis Co. version as well as Wonderbrett Beyond Blueberry, which is a different phenotype of Sundae Driver. It’s a nice balanced hybrid between Fruity Pebbles OG and Grape Pie. The smooth yet rigid texture of this Sundae Driver budder almost looks like a melted Werther’s Original caramel candy left in a hot car. It has a much darker golden brown hue, different from the 101 Cannabis Co. Sundae Driver.
The appearance of this Sundae Driver has more of a cured resin look
This Sundae Driver live budder from The Live Resin Project smells very pungent with a sweet, nutty, and earthy aroma with creamy notes of grapes, chocolate, and berries with a hint of caramel. The consistency is very smooth like a stick of butter, which made it extremely easy to handle. It also has more of a cured resin look in terms of appearance. It may be related to the fact that this Sundae Driver budder is also slightly less than a year old, similar to 101 Cannabis Co.
Less tasty than Lemonnade Tangeray and 101 Cannabis Co. Sundae Driver
In terms of taste, this Sundae Driver was slightly lacking in flavor compared to 101 Cannabis Co. Sundae Driver. It was sweet and gassy but not enough of the aroma gets transferred to the taste. It has a more flat and generic budder taste than the 101 Cannabis Co. Sundae Driver budder, which had a richer, creamier, and nuttier vanilla caramel aftertaste. The overall quality reminds of Lemonnade Tangeray and 101 Cannabis Co. Sundae Driver for the opposite reasons.
The effects feel stronger than Lemonnade Tangeray and 101 Cannabis Co.
Whereas 101 Cannabis Co. Sundae Driver and the Lemonnade Tangeray were pretty tasty, this one had a slightly bland and a little more plain taste which was slightly disappointing. However, the effects feel stronger than Lemonnade Tangeray and 101 Cannabis Co. as the effects feel euphoric, uplifting, and creative with relaxing body high effects. Although the taste is lacking in many flavors, it makes up for its relatively stronger potency.

Weaker than the diamonds found in Terp Hogz, Nug, and Cali Stripe
For now, I would only recommend the potency and value of the Sundae Driver live budder from The Live Resin Project. They are priced near the less expensive tiers of live resin prices, depending on where you live in California and/or Massachusetts. Although this Sundae Driver felt relatively potent, the entourage effects didn’t feel as strong as the diamonds I’ve found in Terp Hogz, Nug, and Cali Stripe. The THC % is 70.99% and the most dominant terpene listed on the box is caryophyllene. This terpene helps with inflammation among other medical conditions. It is also found in many various cannabis topical balms, creams, and/or lotions.
Concluding our review of The Live Resin Project
In conclusion, I would only mildly recommend this Sundae Driver live budder from The Live Resin Project for its relative potency and value. However, the Lemonnade Tangeray and 101 Cannabis Co. Sundae Driver had more flavor than this Sundae Driver live budder from The Live Resin Project. Since this was very decent, I would like to check out some of their more recent batches or other strains. Currently, the Live Resin Project offers live resin budder, concentrates, and cartridges in select dispensaries throughout California and Massachusetts.
