Decarboxylate
Decarboxylate refers to the chemical process of decarboxylation.
THC produces psychoactive effects. Marijuana releases THC at hot temperatures. However, it’s possible to heat marijuana without releasing THC. Carbon in marijuana escapes at low temperatures, while THC is preserved. This is the process of decarboxylation.
Decarboxylation is also known as the first process of making canna oil or butter. Edibles contain canna oil or canna butter. Edibles make users feel “high” because canna oil and butter contain THC.
