Pulsar APX V3 Volt Review – Strong and Portable

Pulsar APX V3 Volt Review – Strong and Portable

Today we have a second look at the new Pulsar APX V3 series of ultra-portable dry herb and extract vaporizers. Pulsar currently offers a wide selection of dry herb & extract vaporizers, bongs, dab rigs, various pipes, and accessories. We have previously reviewed their flagship Rok E-rig here and the Pulsar APX V3 Vape dry herb vaporizer here. They have sent us three different kinds of vaporizers from their APX V3 family. This time, I will try out their APX V3 Volt extract vaporizer.

Pros:

  • Ultra-portable size
  • Surprisingly strong
  • Great flavor
  • Very easy to clean
  • Incredible value

Cons:

  • Tastes slightly harsh at higher voltage settings
  • Short battery life

Recommendations: None

The extremely compact APX V3 Volt delivers surprisingly strong hits with impressive airflow

The APX V3 Volt is the smallest extract vaporizer that still delivers quite a surprisingly impressive punch. Like the rest of the APX V3 collection, this  extract vaporizer also fits comfortably in the palm of your hand with a simple one-button operation. Upon opening the kit, you will find the following:

  • APX V3 Volt unit with glass mouthpiece
  • Quartz cup atomizer
  • Silicone jar
  • USB-C charging cable
  • Dab tool

The APX V3 Volt unit uses a coilless quartz cup above a fixed coil, similar to the Waxmaid Ares, Auxo Cira, and Yocan Orbit

The APX V3 Volt unit consists of the 1100mAh battery, the glass mouthpiece, and the atomizer, which uses a coilless quartz cup above a fixed coil. This feature is similar to the atomizers utilized for the Waxmaid Ares, Auxo Cira, and Yocan Orbit. In terms of temperature control, the APX V3 Volt features four main voltage settings, which are indicated by the number of boxes flashing on the menu screens: 2.5v, 2.8v, 3.2v, 3.7v. At the lowest voltage setting, the flavor is very nice without tasting harsh. At the next setting of 2.8v, the potency starts to gain strength with thick and dense clouds. Overall, I felt the third heat setting of 3.2v is sufficient enough for most concentrates, while the highest setting is best for live resin diamonds and heavier loads of wax.

Using the Pulsar APX V3 Volt for hands-free power mode:

  • Remove the glass mouthpiece.
  • Place your preferred extract towards the center of the atomizer for the best results.
  • Reattach the glass mouthpiece.
  • Turn on the unit by pressing the power button five times in rapid succession.
  • The color of the LED that lights up the APX logo will indicate the current battery life. (green for 100% – 60% power level, orange for 60% – 20% power level, and red for 20% – 0% power level)
  • Adjust the temperature setting by pressing and holding the power button down for 3 seconds until it cycles and lands on your preferred heat setting.
  • Double click the power button to activate heating. (Press and hold down the power button for manual heating mode.)
  • Inhale through the mouthpiece slowly after 5 seconds of heat-up time.

The APX V3 Volt is much easier to clean than other similar vaporizers with its coilless quartz cup

Like the APX V3 dry herb vaporizer, this is also very easy to clean. All you need to do is soak the glass mouthpiece in isopropyl alcohol. Then swab any residue inside the atomizer and wipe down the battery if necessary. Between the two extract vaporizers from Pulsar, the APX V3 Volt is much easier to clean than the APX V3 Wax and other similar vaporizers, such as the LTQ Vapor Curer and the XMAX Qomo. The APX V3 Wax uses a triple coil atomizer, which is more difficult to maintain than the easy maintenance for the APX V3 Volt.

Overall, I would recommend the APX V3 Volt over the APX V3 Wax

All things considered, the APX V3 Volt is easily worth the bargain with its ultra-portable size, surprisingly potent strength, great flavor, and easy maintenance. Both the Pulsar APX V3 Volt & Wax are slightly less expensive than the LTQ Vapor Curer and the XMAX Qomo. While using both vaporizers, I definitely preferred the coilless quartz cup for the Pulsar APX V3 Volt over the triple titanium coil for the Pulsar APX V3 Wax. On the other hand, both the Volt & Wax vaporizers have relatively short battery life. All of the Pulsar APX V3 collection, which includes their Vape, Volt & Wax, are all available in a variety of different colors and designs here.
